Dermal Fillers
Dermal fillers are a non-surgical option to restore or augment facial volume, thereby enhancing one’s natural beauty through facial profile balancing. This can result in a more youthful and rejuvenated appearance. As we age, we lose volume secondary to bone, muscle, and fat loss; and collagen and hyaluronic acid production also slows.
Mechanism: Hyaluronic acid fillers are a gel-like substance which add volume giving a more hydrated and plump appearance.
Procedure Time: 15-30 min per area
Technique: Both needle and cannula techniques
Onset of Action: Immediate
Duration: Months to years, depending on the specific filler and mobility of injected area
Indications:
- Tear troughs (under the eyes)
- Temples
- Cheeks
- Nasolabial folds
- Lips
- Marionette lines
- Jawline
- Chin

Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP)
Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) has gained popularity over recent years, given its regenerative and healing properties, making it ideal for facial rejuvenation and hair restoration.
Mechanism: The patient’s own blood is withdrawn and centrifuged to extract platelet rich plasma. The activated platelets are then injected into the desired target area, releasing growth factors that recruit and increase the proliferation of reparative cells. The risk of immune rejection is eliminated given that the product is one’s own natural cells.
Procedure Time: 45 minutes – 1 hour
Technique: Micro-droplet injections
Number of Treatments: 1-3 sessions recommended initially, with yearly maintenance injections
Onset of Action: Within 2-3 months
Duration: Results are expected to be long-term, with yearly maintenance
Cosmetic Indications:
- Facial aesthetics
- Fine lines
- Wrinkles
- Acne scars
- Collagen loss
- Under eye hallowing and dark circles
- Neck lines
- Decollete (chest)
- Hair restoration
Therapeutic Indications:
- Pain relief in specific joints

Botox
Botox (Onobotulinumtoxin A) has emerged as one of the most commonly sought after procedures in the cosmetic industry. Botox can be used as both a corrective and preventative treatment. In addition to softening fine lines, wrinkles, and minimizing strong facial expressions, Botox can be used to lift, slim, or reshape the face. Strategic placement of Botox in carefully selected muscle groups can give a happier, well rested and rejuvenated appearance. Botox also has therapeutic uses including treatment of migraines and hyperhidrosis (excessive perspiration).
Mechanism: Botox is a neuromodulator that temporarily blocks nerves impulses and thereby relaxes the injected muscles, effectively eliminating or reducing the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and strong facial expressions. In addition to the cosmetic effects, Botox can disrupt nerve impulses that result in headaches, jaw clenching, and excessive sweating.
Procedure Time: 5-10min
Onset of Action: Results can be seen as early as 2 days, and at reach maximal effect by 2 weeks.
Duration: 3-4 months
Cosmetic Indications:
- Forehead lines
- Frown lines
- Crow’s Feet (lateral to the eyes)
- Nasal bunny lines
- Nasal flare
- Gummy smile (to decrease exposures of gums while smiling)
